About the Strauss Ball:   The Ball is our re-creation of an authentic nineteenth century Viennese Grand Ball. We invite you to quietly slip out of the twenty-first century for a few fleeting hours to relive the grandeur and magnificence of a bygone era where Strauss was King. The beauty of the waltz is evident and couples glide gracefully across the dance floor to music of Johann Strauss. As we dance the night away, we hope that this magical evening will never end. The music, surroundings and ambiance of the Viennese Grand Ball are all here.

Venue - The Tides Estate is a perfect setting for the Strauss Ball providing first class, exquisite cuisine with professional white-glove service. It is one of New Jersey’s finest banquet venues and rated as New Jersey’s #1 Wedding and Banquet Venue.

The Music:   The Kauriga Orchestra from Philadelphia will play traditional Viennese and European ballroom dances; waltz, foxtrot, polka, landler, tango, mazurka, gallop, czardas, and others for your dancing and listening pleasure. During dinner the orchestra members will stroll table to table for your delight. A highlight of the evening is the Grand March. During the orchestra breaks, music for European folk dancing will be played and we invite you to join in the folk dancing.

Dinner:   The 3-course gourmet dinner will be white glove service. You have your choice of entrée. Please advise us of any special dietary needs when making your reservation. As you enjoy your dinner musicians will be strolling to tables for your added enjoyment. The premium open bar is available all night so you will have your choice of cocktails, wines or beverages before, during and after dinner. Enjoy a special after dinner drink.

What to wear:   Formal attire and period costume is encouraged. Formal attire can range from traditional large ball gowns to contemporary gowns and cocktail dresses. Most wear long dresses. There is no mandated dress length. For the men, many dress in formal (white tie or black tie) attire. A tuxedo is recommended but not required. Remember to wear comfortable shoes for dancing.

All are Welcome: Singles, Couples, Friends and Dates:   The Strauss Ball is first and foremost a time for celebration and merriment with friends. Though the ball emphasizes social dance, you need not be an experienced dancer to have a good time. The Strauss Ball is a great opportunity to take someone on a romantic date. However, many attendees go simply to enjoy dancing and socializing, either with friends, in groups, or by themselves. In all cases, the Strauss Ball is a fantastic and exciting event.

Overnight accommodations:   For those who are coming from a distance and would like a place to stay overnight, there is a choice of the Hilton Garden Inn, 15 Nevins Road, Wayne, NJ 07479 or Residence Inn by Marriott, 30 Nevins Road, Wayne, NJ 07479.
